Mitchell Couling

Mitchell Couling has worked solely for First Nations, Indigenous groups and communities, and Indigenous owned corporations since becoming a lawyer in 2001. He is a member of Law Society of British Columbia and the Yukon. His primary practice areas include employment law, governance, Aboriginal rights and title, Treaty rights, Impact and Benefit Agreements and economic development. Mitchell was a member of the litigation team and spent a number of years of his career at the trial level acting for the Xeni Gwet’in and Tsilhqot’in Nation in their historic successful Aboriginal title and rights claim: Tsilhqot’in Nation v. British Columbia – the only successful Aboriginal title claim in Canada.
