Rob is a Partner in the KPMG Toronto office of the Advisory, Technology Risk Consulting practice. Initially in the Netherlands and since 2016 in Canada, Rob has been supporting clients manage their IT risk and implement leading practices. Rob specializes in IT governance, transformation and project risk, IT risk management and emerging technology risk including AI. In addition, he supports clients with their internal audit methodology, implementing Agile internal audit elements or improving overall quality.

In his role as IT risk advisor, Rob advises boards and steering committees of their IT risks to business objectives and provides an anticipatory overview on emerging technology risks. He supports in prioritizing and addressing risk early. He further leads IT internal audits especially in the Public Sector. Domains include IT governance, third party management, disaster recovery, enterprise architecture, cyber incident response, database security and artificial intelligence. In addition, he performs comprehensive IT risk assessments informing the Board and CIO as well internal audit departments of a comprehensive IT risk profile and advising them on how to prioritize accordingly. He frequently attends audit committee meetings and advises the board on their risk profile and IT risk considerations.

Imraan is a seasoned executive with 20+ years of experience advising on cyber security and information technology matters to a wide variety of public and private sector clients. Imraan is well-versed in multiple areas of cyber security, including governance, strategy, incident management, cloud security, risk management, digital identity and more.

Imraan focuses primarily on helping public sector organizations adapt to the ever-evolving cyber threat landscape and prioritize cyber investments by providing ‘right-sized’ cyber security advice, capabilities and related managed services to offload work that can be done more effectively at scale. This makes a difference for clients by allowing them to allocate their limited cyber resources more effectively and focus on their core missions, thereby saving them time and money in preventing, detecting, responding to and recovering from cyber incidents quickly.

Prior to joining KPMG, Imraan was a senior executive in the public sector directing the policy, strategy, implementation, and oversight of the federal government’s enterprise-wide cyber initiatives, including leadership of key programs such as cloud security and digital identity. In this role, Imraan was exposed to a wide range of cyber security challenges from departments of varying complexity, which positions him well to provide tailored advice to organizations of all sizes.

Imraan prides himself on providing pragmatic security guidance whilst managing cyber risk appropriately, with a focus on enabling a safe and positive user experience in the digital world. Imraan’s work in this space has been recognized globally for its success, as he was named one of the world’s top 100 most influential people in digital government by Apolitical in 2019. That same year, he also landed a spot as a guest author in the CLX forum’s Canadian Cybersecurity 2020 book.

Marc is currently the Senior Manager, Practice Management Unit (PMU) at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC), overseeing many of the planning, reporting, and external liaison functions within the Office of Audit and Evaluation (OAE).  His team consists of approximately 3 permanent staff, with additional contract staff as necessary.  In particular, Marc is responsible for external audit liaison, professional practices and advisory services, providing assistance to sectors throughout the department.

Marc’s professional career has lasted nearly 30 years in the public and private sectors. Before joining AAFC, Marc worked at Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) as a Manager, Internal Audit and Professional Practices.  He also worked with the Canadian Audit and Accountability Foundation (CAAF) teaching auditing to developing countries, specifically the Audit Office of Guyana (AOG).  Marc also worked with the Office of the Comptroller General (OCG) as Manager, Analysis and Liaison, identifying audit themes and inter-departmental areas of concern.  He has also managed audit projects at Health Canada/Public Health Agency of Canada and Public Services and Procurement Canada.  Prior to this Marc was an Audit Professional at the Office of the Auditor General of Canada.  As well, Marc taught finance and accounting at Carleton University.  Marc’s main areas of audit specialization include human resources, project management, risk management, and finance.

Marc is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP), Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL), Certified in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).  He received his Bachelor of Commerce, specializing in Accounting from the University of Ottawa in 1993 and recently received his Master of Arts degree in Leadership from the University of Guelph in 2021.

In this role, she is able to contribute to the success of AFSC by leading ERM, legal services, compliance, privacy, policy and governance. Previous to this, Karen spent 20+ years in the post-secondary industry, where she became known for successfully implementing programs and/or refreshing existing programs to support the organization. Karen claims the keys to success in any implementation/refresh is the people and taking a service-centric approach.

Karen is known to be a lifelong learner. She has obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Karen holds two designations, Certification in Risk Management Assurance and Supply Chain Management Professional and has multiple certifications in disciplines such as privacy, continuous improvement and project management.

Shannon has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and has obtained her Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP), and the Risk and Insurance Management Society – Certified Risk Management Professional (RIMS-CRMP). Shannon spent fourteen (14) years working with municipalities in the Province of Ontario with a reciprocal and as a broker. Her work in those roles was primarily focused on Risk Management including contract reviews and municipal operation risk assessment. Prior to joining AMO & #39;s Business Services arm LAS as the Program Manager – Municipal Risk Management in June of 2022, she was the Manager of Risk for the City of Vaughan.
