Rob is a Partner in the KPMG Toronto office of the Advisory, Technology Risk Consulting practice. Initially in the Netherlands and since 2016 in Canada, Rob has been supporting clients manage their IT risk and implement leading practices. Rob specializes in IT governance, transformation and project risk, IT risk management and emerging technology risk including AI. In addition, he supports clients with their internal audit methodology, implementing Agile internal audit elements or improving overall quality.

In his role as IT risk advisor, Rob advises boards and steering committees of their IT risks to business objectives and provides an anticipatory overview on emerging technology risks. He supports in prioritizing and addressing risk early. He further leads IT internal audits especially in the Public Sector. Domains include IT governance, third party management, disaster recovery, enterprise architecture, cyber incident response, database security and artificial intelligence. In addition, he performs comprehensive IT risk assessments informing the Board and CIO as well internal audit departments of a comprehensive IT risk profile and advising them on how to prioritize accordingly. He frequently attends audit committee meetings and advises the board on their risk profile and IT risk considerations.

Imraan prides himself on providing pragmatic security guidance, with a focus on enabling a safe and positive user experience in the digital world. Marc is currently the Senior Manager, Practice Management Unit (PMU) at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC), overseeing many of the planning, reporting, and external liaison functions within the Office of Audit and Evaluation (OAE).  His team consists of approximately 3 permanent staff, with additional contract staff as necessary.  In particular, Marc is responsible for external audit liaison, professional practices and advisory services, providing assistance to sectors throughout the department.

Marc’s professional career has lasted nearly 30 years in the public and private sectors. Before joining AAFC, Marc worked at Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) as a Manager, Internal Audit and Professional Practices.  He also worked with the Canadian Audit and Accountability Foundation (CAAF) teaching auditing to developing countries, specifically the Audit Office of Guyana (AOG).  Marc also worked with the Office of the Comptroller General (OCG) as Manager, Analysis and Liaison, identifying audit themes and inter-departmental areas of concern.  He has also managed audit projects at Health Canada/Public Health Agency of Canada and Public Services and Procurement Canada.  Prior to this Marc was an Audit Professional at the Office of the Auditor General of Canada.  As well, Marc taught finance and accounting at Carleton University.  Marc’s main areas of audit specialization include human resources, project management, risk management, and finance.

Marc is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP), Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL), Certified in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).  He received his Bachelor of Commerce, specializing in Accounting from the University of Ottawa in 1993 and recently received his Master of Arts degree in Leadership from the University of Guelph in 2021.

Karen is known to be a lifelong learner. She has obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Shannon has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and has obtained her Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP), and the Risk and Insurance Management Society – Certified Risk Management Professional (RIMS-CRMP). Shannon spent fourteen (14) years working with municipalities in the Province of Ontario with a reciprocal and as a broker. Her work in those roles was primarily focused on Risk Management including contract reviews and municipal operation risk assessment. Prior to joining AMO & #39;s Business Services arm LAS as the Program Manager – Municipal Risk Management in June of 2022, she was the Manager of Risk for the City of Vaughan.

Alex is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and enjoys contributing to the profession by actively performing outreach work to encourage students to pursue their CPA and mentors them towards achieving a successful career. Since joining the Ontario Public Service (OPS), he has held several leadership positions in the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery, before assuming his current role as Director of the Operations and Transformation Support Branch. Alex has specialized knowledge in financial planning, controllership, accounting systems, audit, tax, pensions, business continuity and risk management. He has been able to use his expertise to provide advice and guidance on OPS accounting issues, policies, risks and controls. He has a passion to drive change and has led projects to introduce and modernize financial services in the OPS, including establishing a corporate card center of excellence and establishing an HST collection and remittance process. He is currently leading the modernization efforts for payment and fraud risk management efforts in the OPS. Prior to joining the OPS, Alex worked in several private sector organizations, including Manulife Financial, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and Maple Leaf Foods.

Since joining the OPS, Dan has held several analytical roles in the Ministry of the Solicitor General, and Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery, before assuming his current role of Senior Manager of the Corporate Card Management Unit. In his current role, Dan is responsible for leading the corporate purchasing and travel card program for the OPS. In addition to this portfolio, he has taken the lead on various payment related projects, including the Ministry of Transportation’s License Plate Renewal Refund. He is currently focused on modernization efforts for incoming and outgoing payments in the OPS.

Rudy is the Director of the Transfer Payment Ontario Branch, where he is currently leading initiatives to drive transformation and modernize transfer payment delivery across the Ontario Public Service (OPS). Prior to assuming his current role, Rudy has held Director positions with the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, and the Federal Development Agency for Southern Ontario, as well as other leadership positions with the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks, and within the private sector. Rudy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Schulich School of Business at York University.

Margaret McKay leads the Digital Privacy and Security and the AI for Logistics R&D programs at the National Research Council of Canada. Previously, she has held a variety of management and advisory roles in program and project management, performance measurement, policy and risk, and intellectual property law. She holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in biochemistry from McMaster University, a J.D. from the University of Toronto, and an LL.M. in Privacy and Cybersecurity from Osgoode Hall. She is admitted to the bars of Ontario and New York, is a registered patent agent and trade-mark agent with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office, and holds certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMI) and a Certified Information Privacy Professional (Canada, IAPP).

Greg Paoli serves as Principal Risk Scientist at Risk Sciences International. He has been providing consulting services in the field of quantitative risk assessment applied to human health, public safety and the environment continuously since 1993 (over 27 years).
He specializes in formal probabilistic risk assessment methods, the development of risk-based decision-support tools, comparative risk assessment and risk communication. He has experience in diverse regulatory domains including chemicals management, air quality, water quality, food safety, animal health, plant protection, climate change impacts, medical and engineering devices, consumer products, and transportation, including hazardous materials.
Greg has served on many expert committees devoted to the risk sciences. Greg recently served on the US National Research Council Committee on the Design and Evaluation of Safer Chemical Substitutions: A Framework to Inform Government and Industry Decisions. He was a member of the U.S. National Research Council Committee that issued the 2009 report, Science and Decisions: Advancing Risk Assessment, and was invited as an expert reviewer of the US EPA’s Framework for Human Health Risk Assessment to Inform Decision Making. He serves on ISO’s Technical Committee on Risk Management and its Working Group 8 addressing risk terminology. He has also served on a US NRC Standing Committee on the Use of Public Health Data at the U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service. Greg has served on several expert advisory committees in Canada, served on several expert committees convened by the World Health Organization.
Greg completed a term as Councilor of the Society for Risk Analysis (SRA) and served two terms as a member of the Editorial Board of the journal, Risk Analysis. He was awarded the Distinguished Lectureship Award jointly by the Society for Risk Analysis and Sigma Xi. He has provided training in risk assessment methods around the world, including the continuing education programs of the Harvard School of Public Health and the University of Maryland.

Since joining the OPS, Mugdha has held several analytical roles in the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development, and Ministry of Business Service Delivery, before assuming her current role as Senior Manager of Financial Control. In her current role, Mugdha is responsible for leading a portfolio of corporate financial services, including expenditure payment processing, bank account reconciliation, and tax reporting. In addition to this portfolio, she has taken the lead on reconciliation and monitoring suspicious transactions for the Ministry of Transportation’s License Plate Renewal Refund and the Ministry of Education’s COVID relief programs (i.e. Support for Families​, Support for Parents​, Support for Learners, Ontario COVID Child Benefit​, and Catch Up Payments).
